SOPA

Will have minimal negative effects on the general internet-using population.

At first.

And then it will blow up in five hundred different directions, either due to haste and misuse, the bill’s fuzzy wording, frightened overreaction, or or a little of all of those.

And, besides, well-intentioned or not, censorship is censorship.

SOPA is a big fucking boulder on a small fucking cliff.

Push the boulder and you apply force. Apply enough force and the boulder will move. Once it begings rolling, it’s going to keep rolling until it is stopped by a force greater than it’s own, and that’s a scary thought when it turns from metaphor to real life.

And in all honesty, we’re in the middle of wars and recessions and the end of the fucking world, so why online piracy is suddenly the biggest debate since the Manhattan Project has really got me, but hey. Youtube also tells me more truth than CNN ever has, so maybe that’s the real issue here.

Democracy at its finest. Ha.

Democrazy?
